If you’ve been following my career throughout the years and on social media platforms you’ll know that I’ve been an entrepreneur for quite awhile. My first foray into entrepreneurship was owning my own specialty boutique in Santa Fe, New Mexico after college. I was the ripe age of 28 years old.
Being an entrepreneur is the core of who I am and I’ve been able to parlay my work ethic and passion into so many amazing industries ranging from casino gaming, banking, health and wellness, e-commerce with the last decade in the digital space. All these experiences have molded me tremendously and have shaped my ever expanding and insanely crazy and busy, entrepreneurial career.
For me becoming an entrepreneur isn’t just about being a small business owner and working hard to make lot of money as much as living the kind of lifestyle and legacy I wanted to create for myself and my family. Most important I was able to determine to working with only the people and projects I chose to be involved in.
After life in the fashion business I took some time off to rebrand myself and strategize what I was going to do with myself. I knew I had a lot of specialized skill sets and I wanted to make the most of them.
With my speciality retail background in sales and marketing, I was able to build and establish a pretty solid consulting career which has taken me all over from the United States to Asia, Russia, Mexico and many more exciting places. I established myself quickly as a brand enhancement specialist and someone who could work fluidly with startups and or aging brands to either start up their brands or to propel them the next level.
In my career as an entrepreneur, I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to sit in boardrooms all over the world and only work with the top tier CEO and Founders of some of the best and what I like to think as some of the most interesting companies in the world.
The kind of companies that you only read about in Forbes etc..
The kind of companies where the leaders of these organizations are the captain of their industries and where they have been visionary in the way they build businesses and are known disrupters in their chosen line of work.
I have learned so many wonderful and valuable lessons and things from these great leaders, both men and women, who I not only consider as mentors but some have now become close friends. Everything I learned from them, I have applied into building my businesses around the world and used my knowledge to consult for others.
To me there is nothing more rewarding then seeing what I put into place and watching it being executed. It is because of the knowledge I gained and the relationships I built that last year in November after doing business on the international level for the last decade that my partners and I, The HD Group, received from the 10th International Entrepreneur’s Association of Asia the first ever awards for:
” Mentors of the Year Award ”
” Networking Team of the Year Award ”
” Brand of the Year Award ”
While this was certainly such a wonderful surprise, know that deciding to become an entrepreneur is not an easy thing and that the journey has been really long, hard and bumpy but at the end of the day, it’s been worth every sacrifice because of the experiences, relationships and legacy I’ve built.
